Admission instructions for standard transfer students
Applying for admission as a standard transfer student
A student applying for admission to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi as a standard transfer student is:
- a citizen or permanent resident of the United States; someone who has applied for permanent residency; or who qualifies for Texas residency based on Senate Bill 1528;
- a degree-seeking applicant with 30+ transferable college credit hours from other accredited institutions (no remedial or duplicate credits may be transferred)
Application Process
In order to be considered for admission, you must submit the following items:
- A completed ApplyTexas U.S. Transfer Application for Admission
- A $25.00 non-refundable application fee
- Official college transcript(s) from all institutions attended
Application Deadlines
To ensure full consideration, all documents and items required for admission must be submitted to the Office of Admissions by the deadlines posted below. Documents and items received after the deadline but before the beginning of regular class registration will be processed subject to available space.
- Spring semester: December 15
- Summer I/II semester: May 15
- Fall semester: August 15
Admission Requirements
In order to meet admission requirements, all transfer applicants must have at least a cumulative grade point average of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and be eligible to return to the institution at which they were previously enrolled. The cumulative GPA includes all work attempted, excluding remedial, high school, or duplicate courses.
Transferring Course Work
It is important to note that some vocational and technical courses can only transfer into specific degree programs. To determine which courses will transfer, please contact our Academic Advising Transition Center at 361.825.5931.
Texas Success Initiative
Though not required to gain admission, all students who intend to enroll at A&M-Corpus Christi must submit proof of assessment or exemption to our University to meet requirements set forth under the Texas Success Initiative. Under the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), all undergraduate students entering a Texas public institution of higher education must be assessed for readiness to enroll in certain academic coursework. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has approved the following testing instruments to be used to determine readiness to enroll in college level courses:
